About This Temple

Built by the Pallava king Narasimhavarman II in the 8th century, this structural temple overlooks the Bay of Bengal. It is one of the oldest structural stone temples of South India.

Significance

UNESCO World Heritage Site. Part of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram. A stunning example of Pallava rock-cut and structural architecture.
